Whether you are a potential car buyer looking for a good deal on a vehicle or are thinking of selling your car, you first need to figure out the vehicle's loan value in order to negotiate a satisfactory transaction or ask a fair price. A car's value is determined by several important factors such as the vehicle's make, model, exterior and interior condition, mechanical shape and added features such as anti-lock brakes and airbags. Although a used vehicle's worth is not set in stone, there are ways in which you can get the average loan value.

Instructions :

Step 1

Evaluate your car's condition. Look for cosmetic flaws as well as any mechanical problems. Have a trusted mechanic appraise your car's condition if you are unsure.

Step 2

Visit the official site for The Kelley Blue Book (see References). Click on either the "New Car" tab or the "Used Car" tab, depending upon the car you are trying to find the loan value on, and click go.

Step 3

Select the year, make and model of your vehicle in the provided boxes on the next page. Click the "Go" button to proceed to the next page. Choose the "Suggested Retail Value" button on the next page. Enter any extra features your vehicle has such as power locks or dual air bags, then press continue to proceed.

Step 4

Follow the guideline, read each selection thoroughly and choose your vehicle's condition on the next page. Click submit to get the approximate loan value on your car.

Step 5

Peruse consumer websites, magazines and other car-related resources, such as Consumer Reports and Auto Trader. to get a general idea of how much your vehicle loan value is worth. Be certain to look for vehicles that match your car's description, including wear and tear, cosmetics, mileage and any extra features.

How to Buy the Best Auto Insurance Online

Since the advent of the internet and it's emergence of the 1990's, the idea of moving your service out of the high-street and onto the information superhighway has never been more prominent. Many land-based operations have sought to take their businesses and reputations online as either a replacement or addition to their existing services.

Selling a service online has far reaching benefits for many different businesses. There are no overheads, your products and services can reach a larger target audience and much of the service can be automated to save on unnecessary employee costs. This offers benefits back to the consumer as well. Because profit margins aren't being swallowed up by extortionate rents and other costs, the savings can be passed back to the customer to make a service more competitive amongst its rivals.

One such area is the world of online insurance quotations. The days of visiting several offices over a period of hours have long gone to be replaced by a series of one-stop shops that gather information from everybody and present the prices to the consumer with just the click of a button.

Most insurance companies still have their own individual web sites to deal with existing customers or potential new business familiar with their brand. But for the most part, most online business comes through the increasing number of price comparison web sites where auto insurance makes up a massive percentage of the market. The use of a price comparison web site means the consumer can look at all the prices and services of many different companies without having to spend large amounts of time doing so.

Using a price comparison site is incredibly easy. First, you'll need to locate a site but popular choices in the UK are Confused, Compare the Market and Money Supermarket. All of these sites are free to use but consumers must register first. This helps the site to feed information back to your e-mail address based on your site activity.

To find a quote for auto insurance, simply click on the insurance option and the online form will gather relevant information to ultimately deliver a series of quotations.

You will have to give personal information such as your name, address and age as well as information about the vehicle you want to insure. You will be asked about your driving history, any claims or accidents you may have had and also any driving convictions that are on your drivers license. Once all the relevant information is gathered, the data is assessed and a series of prices for insuring your vehicle will be displayed on the screen.

These prices will vary depending on the type of policy the insurance company is offering plus any additional features that are included in that particular policy such as breakdown recovery or a protected no-claims bonus.

The site will send a reference number of the page you visited to your e-mail address so you can access it again, and this reference number can also be used to save time when actually taking out a policy as the insurance companies have it stored to their database as well.

To learn much more about the different types of insurance rates, visit AllAboutInsuranceRates.com where you'll find this and much more, including auto insurance, life insurance, commercial insurance, and how to get the best car insurance rates.

How to Know If a Car Dealer Is Cheating You

The infamous car dealers. Everyone has heard of the bad reputations of car dealers, so how can you not get cheated by the con. There are ways to find out for yourself how much you should be paying for a certain vehicle, and then you can tell if your dealer is just taking you for a ride.

Instructions

Step 1

Don't limit yourself. Go to a few different dealerships, this gives you more options and prices. Whatever you do, do not make a hasty decision, you will regret it.

Step 2

Write notes, if you like a car write it down. Be sure to include the make (chevy, ford, etc..), model (Toyota Camry, ford focus, etc..), year the vehicle was made, if it is a sedan (4 door), coupe (2 door), hatchback, etc.. and get a vin number. Also be sure to write down the place of the vehicle, and the price wanted.

Step 3

Get on the internet. Go to kelley blue book, http://www.kbb.com/ and enter in the vehicles that you are looking at. The purpose of kelley blue is to give you three prices, trade-in value (value of your car if you are trading it in), private party value (if you were buying a vehicle from a person rather than a car dealer), and suggested retail value (what the price should if you were to buy it from a car dealer). This website will give you a lot of your information.

Step 4

After you have narrowed your search for a vehicle down. You can go to www.carfax.com if you are planning on buying a used vehicle. Here you can use the vehicle's vin number and search the car's history. It gives you any title problems, ownership history, and more. However the car fax does cost money usually $30 to $40.
